Tufting course

In this 3-evening course in Nieuwegein you will learn everything about tufting in a small group of enthusiasts. The course starts on Monday evening, September 30, 2024. The second lesson is scheduled for Monday, October 7, 2024. The third lesson is still being scheduled (in consultation with each other). Each class starts at 7:00 PM and lasts until 10:00 PM. Don't worry if you don't speak Dutch, I'll teach in English when necessary. Good to know: after following a workshop or course, you will receive a 10% discount on your next order.

Lesson 1
In the first lesson we will start with the first phase of making your tufted rug:

• We start with a drink and an introduction to the different guns and techniques.
• You take a piece of tufting cloth for a frame and stretch your cloth onto the frame.
• You can put your design on your rug with a projector.
• You will get started with tufting and applying the different techniques.

Lesson 2
In the second lesson we will start with the second phase of making your tufted rug:

• We will continue with tufting our designs and the different techniques you want to use in them. You can work with the loop pile gun, the cutpile gun and the high pile tufting gun, but also with the punch needle.
• If your rug is tufted, we will touch it up and glue the rug.
• If there is still time left, you can get started with the scissors or trimmer.

Lesson 3
In this last lesson it's all about the finishing touches:

• Youedit the front of your rug with the scissors and/or trimmer as you want. Do you just want to finish it neatly? Fine. Maybe you want to sharpen the lines, shave grooves into them or create beautiful 3D effects. Everything is possible.
• We finish your rug with backing fabric. Depending on the purpose of your rug, this can be done with anti-slip backing fabric for the floor, or thin backing fabric for the wall, including hooks to hang your rug.

Where is the tufting course?

The tufting courses take place at an external location in Utrecht, which will be shared with you after registration. Easy accessibility and free parking are always taken into account at the locations.
