Yarn cones
Yarn cones
You wrap your wool on these cones to ensure a smooth supply to your frame or rug. The price is per individual cone. The dimensions of these cones:
- The cones are 17 centimeters high
- The diameter at the bottom is 4.5 centimeters
- The diameter on top is 2.5 centimeters
You often see tufters working with cones. They have made a board with two sticks on their frame on which they can place these cones. They twisted their wool on the cones. It is one of the ways in which you can ensure that your wool supply runs smoothly.
Tip for winding your yarn with available tools at home: do you have a whisk that goes with an electric mixer and a cordless drill? Secure the whisk in the cordless drill and place the cone on the whisk. Wrap the wool that you want to twist on the cone manually around the cone a few times. Then continue turning with the cordless drill. Gradually turn the wool down and up around the cone and tadaa, you have a nice cone, wrapped with your wool. Ready for your tufting project!
